Throughout the novel, Long Cheng faces many challenges and obstacles, but he ultimately succeeds in becoming a famous writer. One of the most memorable scenes in the novel is when Long Cheng returns to his village and meets an old friend, Tie Qiu. Tie Qiu gives Long Cheng a scarlet tie as a symbol of their friendship and Long Cheng's success. The novel is written in Mo Yan's unique style, full of humor and irony, and it has received much praise from readers and critics.

Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a young man named Jack. He was a simple farmer, but he loved to dress up and stand out from the crowd. One day, while walking through the forest, he stumbled upon an old, wise owl. The owl said, “Jack, you have a special gift. You can turn any color you want by simply wearing it.”

Jack was skeptical at first, but he decided to test the owl’s claim. He found a beautiful scarlet tie in the forest and tied it around his neck. To his surprise, his entire body turned a deep, fiery red. He looked like a human flame, burning brightly in the forest.

Jack was fascinated by this newfound power. He could change his color to match his mood or the occasion. He wore the tie to work one day and his boss was so impressed that he gave Jack a raise. Jack wore the tie to a party and all the girls were attracted to him. He felt like a rock star, living a life of excitement and adventure.

But he also realized that the power of the scarlet tie came with a price. He could no longer blend in with the crowd. He stood out like a sore thumb, always attracting attention. And while he loved the attention, he also missed the simple life he had before the tie.

One day, while walking through the forest again, he stumbled upon the old owl again. The owl said, “Jack, you have been using your power wisely, but now it’s time to give it up.” Jack was reluctant at first, but he knew that the owl was right. He untied the scarlet tie and returned it to the forest.

As he walked away, he felt a sense of peace and tranquility wash over him. He knew that he had made the right decision. The scarlet tie had given him a special gift, but it was just a gift, not who he was. He was still Jack, a simple farmer with a big heart and a kind soul.

And while he no longer had the ability to change his color at will, he found that he liked himself just fine the way he was. He no longer needed to stand out from the crowd or attract attention to himself. He could just be himself, living a simple life in the small village where he belonged.

And so, Jack left the scarlet tie behind and continued on his way, living a life of peace and happiness that he had always dreamed of.
