I laughed again and agreed with him. "Yeah, it does look good on you," I said. "But why are you suddenly interested in wearing ties?"
"Well," he said, taking the tie off and hanging it back on the rack. "I've been thinking about getting a new job and I want to look more professional."
"Oh," I said, nodding my head. "I see. Well, good luck with your job search!"
We left the store with my boyfriend's new tie and I could tell that he was feeling good about himself. It was cute to see him so happy about something so small, I thought to myself. And maybe he really will look good in a tie after all.
