Materials:
- 3 different color fabrics (I used light blue, bright orange, and forest green)
- Black felt sheet
- White felt sheet
- Patterned fabric scraps (optional)
- 20cm length of 3mm elastic cord or thin string
- Sewing machine and thread
- Scissors and pins
Steps:
1、First, cut out the animal shapes from the black felt sheet. I chose to make a panda, a tiger, and a rabbit. You can choose any animals you like or even create your own unique designs!
2、Next, cut out the corresponding colors for each animal from the other felt sheets. For example, for the panda, I cut out light blue for the body, bright orange for the nose and eyes, and forest green for the ears and paws.
3、Now, start sewing the animals together using the sewing machine or by hand. Use a coordinating thread color to ensure the seams are invisible. Start with the head, then add the body, followed by the ears, paws, and tail. Remember to use pins to hold the pieces in place while sewing.
4、Once you've finished sewing the animals, it's time to make the ties! Measure and cut out a 20cm length of 3mm elastic cord or thin string. Thread one end of the elastic through the eye of the needle and tie a knot at the other end to secure it.
5、Now, take one of the animals you made and place it on top of the elastic cord. Sew the animal onto the cord, making sure to leave enough space between the animal and the end of the cord so that it can be tied around the neck comfortably.
6、Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each of the animals you want to make into ties. You can even use different colored elastic cords or thin strings to create even more unique combinations!
7、Finally, when you've finished sewing all of your animals onto their respective cords, you can start tying them around your neck! Each animal will make a cute and unique tie that you can wear with any outfit. Enjoy creating and wearing your adorable animal-print ties!
